Lighthouse Collection of Woodburned Art by Nedra Denison
Many years ago I started wood burning a collection of lighthouses of America. Growing up in New England, I lived near the water and developed a love and fascination for Lighthouses. These wood burnings are done on a variety of wood including basswood, russian birch and Italian poplar.
Generally speaking I prefer my pyrography "au naturale" without any color but occasionally I like to experiment with color as an accent and my lighthouse wood burning art lends itself nicely the addition of a little bit of color.
I have been traveling all of my life either for business or pleasure. My travels have taken me from one coast to the next and to many countries outside the United States with at least one camera always close at hand.
I have taken photos of my travels, including many of the lighthouses (among other things) in America and my box of reference photos is bulging over. There just isn't enough time to do them all. As time and travel permit the collection will grow so check back often.
