Floral woodburnings that look so alive and natural you can almost smell them!

I have always been a nature lover, and especially love the fragrance and beauty of flowers.  Moving back to the Pacific Northwest has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to not only create lovely gardens in the yard with wonderful fragrances, but also to find wonderful flowers to photograph and use as reference for burnings and drawings. 

All of my floral pieces are done from her own garden or photos I or Alan have taken along the way!

Now living in New Mexico I have started my new garden.  I am growing a variety of roses, iris and gourds.  I should have lots of new material for burning!

"Hummingbird 'n Bloom"

14" basswood cheeseboard

This is a colorized version of a burning I did several years ago.  I made many changes to the original design and added just a hint-a color. I used a photo of one of the hummingbirds from our backyard bird sanctuary and put it together with some of the vines hanging over our wall. Although we don't have an old beat up fence, I used reference photos of old fences and hinges and put them together to create this old fence.  We have built a paradise for birds in our yard complete with trumpet vines, butterfly bushes and rose of sharon.
